The River Refuses No Life

Happy World Health Day! ~ Part II

A mighty river never turns away from the life that depends on it.

Just like a river, scientists, too, remain steadfast, continually striving to save lives and uplift the quality of life—for humans, animals, plants, and the world beyond.

Their work is a quiet yet radiant beacon of hope, guiding us all toward a healthier, brighter future.

“We’ve now entered Phase II (Efficacy and Side Effects) of our investigational drug trial, ‘Topical Probiotic Sinus Irrigation for Treating Chronic Sinusitis,’ in the United States,” Dr. Lee Ching Lew, ProBionic’s Managing Director shared.

“This trial represents a milestone that would have been nearly impossible for us to achieve on our own. It stands as a powerful example of what becomes possible when vision, perseverance, and collaboration come together.”

ProBionic is deeply grateful to our dedicated collaborators, Dr. Victoria S. Lee and the University of Illinois Chicago, for standing beside us and voluntarily testing this treatment.

Dr Lee Ching further explained, “Unlike a typical product trial, drug trials are long, complex, and very expensive.”

“These collaborators are doctors who care for patients every single day.”

“Their confidence in the potential of this treatment not only supports our efforts but actively accelerates them, enabling us to advance toward our goals more quickly and effectively than would be possible relying solely on our own resources.”

ProBionic together with our collaborators are striving for a true breakthrough in sinus infection (Sinusitis) research.

  • To readers that don't know about Sinusitis, it is a condition in which the tissues lining your sinuses—air-filled spaces in your forehead, cheeks, and nose—become inflamed.
  • This inflammation can lead to symptoms such as facial pain or pressure, nasal congestion (a stuffy nose), a runny nose, and sometimes fever.
  • Other possible symptoms may include headache, reduced sense of smell, and general discomfort.

Dr Lee Ching emphasized, “At present, not a single probiotic has been registered as a drug in any area.”

“If we can make this a reality, it will not only mark a major scientific milestone, but also shine as significant proof of what becomes possible when determined people come together to chase a vision the world has never seen before.”

Happy World Health Day 2026: Together with health, Stand with science!

This is Part 2: The River Refuses No Life of a 4-part series, created to honor the unwavering commitment of ProBionic—both to advancing science and to improving human health.

Dr. Lee Ching responded to the question, “Can you share a specific moment when scientific collaboration—across disciplines, institutions, or countries—led to a breakthrough in improving health outcomes?” in this story.

May these stories inspire you to look deeper, question more, and believe in the power of discovery and love.
